A Coast Guard helicopter pilot radios, “This is CG-1-2-2-5. We’ve sighted an unidentified vessel traveling at high speed toward the coast. 1 P.O.B., multiple bales on deck. Not responding to hailing attempts. Request permission to halt the vessel, over.” The reply comes: “Roger, CG-1225, you are clear to interdict, over.” The vessel is Santa’s sleigh, piled with gift sacks and pulled by reindeer under a full moon, with a cutter and small boat closing in below.
