Different Eras

Mar 21, 2014 — Comic #1
Long vertical comic. A narrator muses, “I prefer to think of time as nonlinear... that we walk in and out of different eras of our lives,” over scenes from one man’s life: a childhood hike with a parent, visiting an elderly relative by a fireplace, a graduation, standing watch on a Coast Guard cutter, a romantic night on a city rooftop, standing in the rain, and working in an office. In the last panel he’s at a video-store counter as the clerk says, “You still have to return your DVDs on time, sir.” He protests, “If this isn’t a different era, how am I in a video store?!” A poster behind him reads “Remake 4: The Reboot.”
