What Is This
The Claw of Knowledge is a webcomic about the Coast Guard that’s been running since 2014. It exists to give Coasties a reason to laugh as they go about saving lives, stopping crime, and spending hours and hours on watch, as well as to teach them about the amazing things their service has done. Or, just to remind people that we exist.
The Artist
My name is Brian Runion. I used to be in the Coast Guard, but now I draw things in PowerPoint and put them on the internet. Sometimes, those things are funny. My work has appeared in Task and Purpose, We Are the Mighty, and Proceedings magazine. I have published two books, 25 Awesome Facts About the Coast Guard and Best Cutters of the Best Coast Guard.
