Travel Claim

Mar 28, 2017 — Comic #109
A Coastie at an old computer asks, “Why does it take so long to get reimbursed for a travel claim? I submitted everything six months ago.” He’s told, “I’m sure if you give it a little more time, they’ll find where your money went.” The scene cuts to two finance officers on a tropical beach with a shovel and treasure map: “I remember we buried it 50 paces past the hangman’s tree.” “But before the skull rock.”

I suppose it wouldn’t be terrible if they went back to the old method and paid sailors in rum. Really cuts out the middle man.
