In a hangar, an orange Coast Guard helicopter has been turned into a jack-o'-lantern: orange tape forms angry triangular eyes over the cockpit windows, lit candles glow yellow inside the cockpit, and a jagged grin is taped across the nose. A maintainer in blue coveralls, holding a roll of orange tape, gestures at it: “See? It’s a pumpkin! …Get it?” Two pilots in green flight suits, one holding a flight helmet, stare back unimpressed.
