Wasn’t enforcing tariffs like the Coast Guard’s first mission, back in 1790?” An officer replies, “Guess we better get ready, then.” In the next panel they’re dressed as 18th-century Revenue Cutter officers, one with a musket and one with a spyglass and flintlock pistol.
