Continental Coast Guard

Jul 4, 2023 — Comic #303
A Navy sailor scoffs, “Coast Guard wasn’t even around during the Revolution!” A Coastie replies, “Wait, you haven’t heard of the Continental Coast Guard?!” Panels show Coasties in colonial dress cleaning tea crates out of Boston Harbor, ferrying George Washington across the Delaware, and citing fleeing British troops at Yorktown for not having enough lifejackets. The sailor protests, “None of that is real!” The Coastie answers, “Neither is your founding date, Navy.”

Happy July 4th, Coast Guard! Let’s not forget the critical role I assume we played in our war for independence!
