Sextant

Jul 20, 2019 — Comic #219
A cadet complains, “Why are we learning to use sextants? No one’s used one of these to do anything cool in at least 200 years!” An astronaut in a NASA cap pops out of the ship’s small boat: “Not true! Hello, I’m Apollo 11 astronaut Mike Collins! In 1969, I used a sextant to plot our course around the moon.” A cadet asks, “Have you been hiding out in that small boat this whole voyage just to pop up and make that point?” He replies, “I’m used to long trips in tight spaces.”

Like a lot of people that go into the military, when I was a kid, I was inspired by heroes like Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Buzz Aldrin

Congrats on 50 years since Apollo 11, and thanks for making us all look up! 🚀🌕
